Summary:
The two presenters
of the show are on the flight deck of HMS Illustrious. There was a special
ceremony in the St. Paul’s cathedral, and also later that day where there will
be a charity dinner. The reason for all this is the 70th anniversary
of the ship.
Eddie
Izzard is also on deck. He spoke to royal veteran Billy Swift. Billy did a lot
of stuff for the country, especially in Russia. Russia wanted to give him a
medal for what he did in Russia, but they couldn’t because there is a rule in
England which stops them from getting the medal.
Opinion:
I think it
is good that they have a day for the ship, but also for all the veterans. This
way people can look back on what happened, which I believe is a good thing. It
is also a good thing that Eddie is talking about the fact that England refuses
to let the veterans get a medal. It could raise some questions and it could
possibly change in time. Because I believe people who did a lot of stuff for
their country deserve a medal for it. That is why I believe it is good somebody
brings it up on television.
